Harvia 50 Commercial Wood-Burning Sauna Stove (40 kW)

The Harvia 50 is Harvia's most powerful classic wood stove, built for big saunas and heavy use: retreats, lodges, camps, community and commercial saunas, and large private saunas where a crowd is bathing at once. Its 40 kW heats rooms of 20 to 50 m³ quickly, and 120 kg of stones keep the heat steady even as the door opens and groups change over.

The tall graphite body, 10 mm firebox top plate and cast iron door are built for long, hard firing days. Designed and made in Finland.

Choose your model

Harvia 50 Loaded from inside the sauna
Harvia 50 SL Through-the-wall version: the firebox passes into the next room, so the wood is loaded from outside and the hot room stays clean

The Harvia 50 is sold as the stove only. It's a commercial stove that connects to a larger flue than our home stoves, so the chimney and floor protection are specified for each site rather than sold as a set.

Recommended stones (not included)

Takes up to 120 kg of 10–15 cm stones.

What else you'll need

  • Chimney / flue (not included): the Harvia 50 has a Ø140 mm flue connection (minimum flue internal diameter 110 mm, T600). Harvia's manual covers connecting it to a masonry flue through the rear or top opening. If you want a steel chimney instead, talk to us and your installer, and we'll specify one for your building
  • Floor (not included): untiled concrete at least 60 mm thick is fine as is. A timber floor needs a 60 mm concrete slab extending 300 mm to the sides and rear and 400 mm in front of the stove (or Harvia protective bedding). A tiled floor needs Harvia protective bedding or similar heat protection
  • Space: 1,200 mm to the ceiling and 500 mm to combustible walls and benches on every side (half that with a single protective cover), plus about 1 m² of clear floor in front of the stove for the user
  • SL model: a non-combustible (masonry) wall section around the firebox opening, as set out in Harvia's additional instructions
  • Stones: 6 boxes, as above

Installation

  • Installer: the stove and chimney must be installed following Harvia's manual (downloadable below) and the safety distances in the specifications.
  • Ventilation: a fresh-air inlet low down near the stove and an outlet high up on the far side of the room, as shown in the manual.
  • Commercial saunas: send us your floor plan and we'll go through it with you.

Why operators choose it

  • 40 kW for rooms up to 50 m³
  • Heavy-duty build: 10 mm firebox top plate and cast iron door
  • Stable heat with constant traffic
  • SL model keeps loading and ash outside the sauna
