There's something special about a real fire in the sauna. The Harvia Legend 150 is a round, open-frame stove filled to the brim with stones, so the heat comes off a big stone mass rather than hot steel. That's what gives the Legend its famously soft, rolling löyly, and the glass door lets you watch the fire while you relax.

It's sized for home saunas of 6 to 13 m³, holds up to 120 kg of stones, and has small side safety distances (200 mm), so it fits well in a compact room. Designed and made in Finland by Harvia.

What's in the complete set

• Harvia Legend 150 or 150 SL wood-burning stove (WK150LD / WK150LDSL)
• Harvia WHP1500 black insulated chimney set (Ø115 mm): 1.5 m insulated stainless steel chimney, 1 m flue pipe, ceiling lead-through, rubber roof flashing and rain cap
• Harvia WL120 round protective bedding (Ø624 mm, 60–75 mm high), the base the stove stands on, so it can go on a tiled or timber floor
• Harvia WL260 floor protection plate (800*400 mm) for in front of the firebox door

Recommended stones (not included)

The Legend 150 takes up to 120 kg of 10–15 cm stones. Harvia says smaller stones block the airflow and shorten the stove's life, so please don't use 5–10 cm stones in this one.

Can I put it straight into my sauna?

Yes, with the complete set, as long as:

• Floor: untiled concrete at least 60 mm thick needs nothing extra. A tiled or timber floor needs the protective bedding and front plate, which are in the complete set
• Safety distances are met: 1,000 mm to the ceiling, 200 mm to the sides, 250 mm behind and 500 mm in front to anything combustible (walls, benches). If your room is tighter, Harvia's WL200 protective sheath can reduce them. Just ask
• Chimney height: the chimney set suits a standard install through one ceiling and roof. Taller rooms or roofs may need an extra WHP500 / WHP1000 section (max. total height 5 m)
• Stones: 6 boxes, as above
• SL models: the fire tunnel passes through the wall, so you load wood from the changing room or outside. The wall opening must be fire-safe (for example masonry around the tunnel), and the front floor plate goes in front of the feeding door. Your installer will set this up. Just ask if you'd like us to check your plan

Installation

• Installer: the stove and chimney must be installed following Harvia's manual (downloadable below) and the safety distances in the specifications.
• Ventilation: a fresh-air inlet low down near the stove and an outlet high up on the far side of the room, as shown in the manual.
